S2 was PHENOMENAL

S2 (Sojourn Students) kicked off tonight and it was AMAZING! We had about 30 something kids and about 20 leaders. It was a complete blast. Amazing kids and amazing leaders all glorifying an amazing God. I’m so thankful to be a part of this beautiful ministry. We didn’t know what to expect tonight, and really neither did the kids. But God took our gifts and just EXPLODED with awesome. We had kids talking and getting to know each other. Leaders mingling with the students and getting to know them. We had food and played Sardines (much like hide and seek except only 4 people hide) on three floors of the church in the dark (don’t worry…we had leaders patrolling haha). It was just amazing to worship God and to not only tell but SHOW the kids the Gospel. And that’s what it’s really all about. It’s all about God and how much he loves us and what he’s done for us. I pray that each day be filled with such glory, that God just opens new doors for me to tell others about what he’s done and to glorify him.

So keep praying for us. Pray that we work out the bugs and that the more we get together that we’ll grow. That more kids come, more leaders sign up and that the community will just EXPLODE with God’s amazing love.

Also keep praying for my friend’s grandmother. She made it through the surgery ok. She had ruptured something in her heart and was in the ICU. But she made it through ok, praise be to GOD! Please keep praying for her soul. Her body may have been fixed temporarily but her soul still remains in the state it was in. Please pray that her heart is just transformed by God.

Grace and Peace <3

this is just fantastic!

Hey guys I have a few prayer requests

I don’t know if some of you remember praying for a friend of mine’s grandmother who was I’ll a few months back. Well please PLEASE pray that God changes her heart towards him. That God just guides her back to the God who loves her more than anything. Please please pray. She’s very sick and they aren’t sure how much time she has left. Pray. Pray. Pray.
Also please pray for my friend. She is far far from God right now. She doesn’t even believe He exists. She turned away from Christianity after high school. Please pray for her. I love her SO much and she is such a blessing my my life. We are closer than sisters but how much more wonderful to be sisters in Christ as we once were. Pray that Go protects her from the evils of this broken world and that He guides her back to Him. I love her more than she knows…but how much more does God, the one who formed her, love.
ALSO (man the list keeps growing!!) please pray for Sojourn Students (S2) that kicks off tonight. We don’t know how many kids will be there but it’s guaranteed to be awesome. We’ll party like it’s ‘99 and preach the gospel to the wonderful kids in the community. I’m so grateful to be a part of this.

Grace and Peace to you all. You, my tumblr friends, are EXCEPTIONAL children of God.

awesome encouragement! :)

it was for me as well. God is so great at encouraging me when I need and heck…even when I don’t!!!

This happened to be one of those days when it was just an amazing surprise that was given to a child by a Father who loves her more than she knows<3

also wanted to share this verse with you guys. I’ve been doing a reading plan on Prayer. I’m only on day 3 but it’s already awesome. This little nugget of awesome is found in Nehemiah 1:11

“Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor in the presence of this man.”

this man being the king so he could petition him to rebuild the wall in Jerusalem. Awesome book if you ever want to read it.

I have an AMAZING story to share with you guys

ok…background to said story. I am a bastard child. My mother got married when I was 8. Until then we moved around some and I was shuffled from one amazing family member to the next. Don’t get me wrong though, I loved it. I was SO spoiled.

Well when I was about 4 we lived with my uncle’s ex wife (crazy yes i know) and her three children. We moved out not long after….but only to the house down the street so I still went to their house all the time, mostly for food (but that’s beside the point)

well time goes on, Momma got married, we moved to another town that is 30 min from any civilization (aka Walmart). Life is good. Moved out when I was 18. Flitted about from one church to the next, never really finding community.

I’ve recently started attending a church called Sojourn. I attended while I still worked two jobs so I went to the church they had in Louisville. As I was still trying to find a church to call home it was announced that Sojourn would be started a church in New Albany (my town) in the next year. Well…that was it. It was done. Sojourn is where my church family would gather. It was instant. I knew. Not long after Sojourn New Albany has it’s first service I move in to the house LITERALLY a block from the church. No joke. I can walk to church in UNDER 7 min. It’s awesome. Now with only working one job I’ve been just DIVING in to serving at church. I’ve forgotten how much I love to serve and what it’s like to serve. I’ve not served in church consistently since I was 18. I’m a little rusty but it’s amazing. Our Student Ministry (S2) is kicking off tomorrow (PLEASE PRAY FOR US!) and I couldn’t be more excited. God is opening so many doors for amazing relationships.

This weekend I attended a membership class for Sojourn. If I’m going to commit to this family I was to make it for real. There was a guy there, Lachlen, who looked familiar but that was it. He was one of the guys who helped start Sojourn 11 years ago and now it’s grown into a massive network of churches all around not only Louisville but also the world. They have helped start churches in places such as Boston and Chatanooga and even in Ethopia and Western Europe. It’s amazing. But back to my story…Lachlen had said he was from this area, graduated from New Albany High and all that awesome stuff. He still looked VERY familiar but I hadn’t attached his face with any memory I had of anything. I wrote it off as nothing more than him looking like someone I must have met somewhere. Well as I was telling my Momma all about Sojourn and the class and how I knew God wanted me there I brought up Lachlen and her first response was “Lachlen who?” and of course I gave her his last name and she said “Um…Chelsea…you used to live with him” HE WAS ONE OF THE KIDS WE LIVED WITH.

MIND. BLOWN.

I knew his face looked familiar..I just KNEW it. And all the pieces started coming together, in Michael’s craft store of all places. Memories flooded in like…well…like a flood. Of all the people to put in my path…someone so obscure from my past. I’m still amazed…just typing this makes me amazed all over again.

God is so good. I don’t know if my eyes are just sensitive to His works or if He is just crazy working right now but wow….God has once again blown my mind.

So I just wanted to share this with you guys. And if you EVER doubt that you aren’t where you’re supposed to be…DON’T. You never know when God will have you cross paths with someone from your past again. He has you where you are for a reason. Trust Him.
