My Journey To Japan

This is the page where I shameless ask for money to get me to Japan

In April of 2011, after putting a difficult part of my life behind me, I felt the call to go to Japan to be a missionary. It was one of those ridiculously clear and I’m scared not to obey callings. Much like Jonah whose story is found in the book that shares his name.

When I started reading up on Japan and the religious state of it’s people I was ASTOUNDED. 84% of Japanese claim no personal religion (Christian or otherwise), 64% do not believe in God and 55% don’t believe in Buddha. Though Japan is a freely religious country, they have a lack of religion. Plus Shinto (a very indigenous religion) and Buddhism are very ingrained in their family and in their history. A little over 2% of the country is Christian. Of the more than 127 million people in Japan, only 3 million call themselves Christians. My. Jaw. DROPPED. So many lost people. So many people searching to fill a void. I hear so many comments on how crazy Japanese people are or how weird…WELL DUH! Being a majorly secular society of course they will be screwed up. America is screwed up and we claim to be a mostly Christian nation! But all the more reason to go and tell people about Christ and what He’s done.

I’ll be working at a church called J House in Osaka, Japan. I will be in the heart of Osaka, one of Japan’s largest cities. I will participate in campus outreach activities at a university in Osaka and talking to college kids about Christ. Here is where being American I hope will come in handy. I’ve heard that my generation of Japanese people LOVE western culture. So I plan on making many fantastic friends a long the way =)

I will also be helping with the church’s comings and goings and ministries and bible studies. And most importantly inviting just about everyone I can to these bible studies. I’m so SO excited! And Pastor Katsuya is doing an amazing work there. Watch the videos and listen to the sermons if you wish. I hope, if you do, that your heart will be touched just a fraction of what mine was.

Basically I’m going to Japan to show the love of Christ and share what He did at the cross for us. I want to just LOVE on Japan and let Christ shine through me. I’m not the best person for the job, I’m not qualified to go but guess what….God’s going to use me anyway…because that’s just how He rolls.

So if you would like to donate to this amazing cause I would greatly appreciate it. A little can go a long way. If you tithe, maybe if you give one or two of your tithes to my mission and God’s church THAT would be awesome. If you’ve nothing to give or don’t feel led to give then prayers are JUST as appreciated. Every penny that comes through here will go to NOTHING but supporting my mission over the next year.

There is a donate button to your right. And thank you in advance for a) reading this, b) praying for me and c) donating if you did so. Again…a little goes a long way. $1, $5, $50. I DON’T CARE. I just want to be able to minister to Japanese people about Christ.

ARIGATOU AND GOD BLESS <3
